A DECADE OF SERVICE

2013-14 Rotary year

Our Rotary Club is in our 10^th year and is proud to be part of 34,000 other Rotary clubs and over one million Rotarians around the world. Our membership is made up of Business owners, Executives and Professionals who want to really make a difference in our community.  We are all united in the cause of service. In fact, the Rotary motto is Service Above Self.

Some of our current and past Service Projects include:

• Volunteering to help serve meals at LifeNet4Families (Cooperative Feeding Program), who feeds the homeless, serving over 250 meals a day.
• Broward Children’s Center Respite Program picnic – helped run the event for several years.
• Participate in the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center Thanksgiving “Basket Brigade”.
• Helped fund a wheel chair ramp at an orphanage in Haiti.
• Participated in Clean the Beach Project in Fort Lauderdale
• Assisted in ‘Clean the Waterways Project’ on the inter-coastal waterway.
• Donated money to Second Chance Society that helps people get back on their feet again.
• Purchased school uniforms for homeless Broward County elementary school children
• Provided funds for a newly disabled woman to make her house handicap accessible.
• Purchased much needed equipment for the Children’s Diagnostics and Treatment Center
• Contributed to a project that built fresh water wells in the Philippines.

This year we plan to help Feed the local homeless at “Life Net 4 Families” the Broward County Cooperative Feeding Program; provide dictionaries to Broward County 3rd graders; work with the “2nd Chance Society” providing necessities for those seeking employment; and work with others in our local & international community.
