The Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale/Cypress Creek is proud to be part of 34,000 Rotary clubs and over one million Rotarians around the world. Our membership is made up of Business owners, Executives, Professionals and Community Leaders who want to really make a difference in our community. We are all united in the cause of service. In fact, the Rotary motto is Service Above Self.
Rotary Service Projects for 2021-2022:
LifeNet4Families
The Rotary Fort Lauderdale/Cypress Creek volunteers at LifeNet4Families. LifeNet4Families provides food, clothing, job training, showers and more to those that need it. Our efforts to help LifeNet4Families are one of the many ways we give back and help make a difference in our community.
Sallah Foundation Children’s Hospital
Members from the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale/Cypress Creek deliver healthy snacks and toys to children at Sallah Foundation Children’s Hospital
Bikes for Humanity
Donating over 500 bicycles to people in rural communities in Africa where the people have no means of transportation – the transportation will enable them to obtain schooling, medical service and sell their own wares – and can allow them to more than double their income.
Rise Against Hunger
Our club purchases supplies and creates over 15,000 meals in 2 hours – meals provided to people in an area of the world where people are dying every day of starvation – meals are delivered to children through schools and the children are weighted monthly to ensure they are receiving the meals
The Dictionary Project
One thousand and six hundred (1,600) Student Dictionary-Gazetteer’s were labeled for distribution to third (3rd) Graders in Title One schools of Broward County by club Rotarians, in just two hours! Our Rotarians have in the past five years distributed over 10,000 dictionaries to students.
Pack A Sack
Each week our Rotary club delivers bags of food and snacks to children at Liberty Elementary School who would not have anything to eat on the weekend otherwise. In addition, we give boxes of food for the families for Thanksgiving, Winter Break, Spring Break and the summer.
Pitch Night
A new project in 2019-2020, the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale/Cypress Creek will host an event that gives organizations an opportunity to “pitch” their projects or organization to our panel of professionals.
In addition to our commitment to making our local community a better place, our club is known for its commitment to Rotary International. Since our inception, our club has donated over $72,000 to the Rotary Foundation. It’s important to know that The Rotary Foundation does not use any of the donated funds to pay for administrative expenses. Instead, they use only the interest earned from donations to cover those costs. Every dollar donated to the Rotary Foundation goes to the people, community or project in need.
If you have reached a point in your life that you want to be involved in an organization whose motto is ‘Service Above Self’, please join us for a meeting or for one of our service projects. Your first visit is complimentary. Our club meets for lunch at 12:00pm every Tuesday.
Our meetings are fun and engaging. We have speakers who educate us on the economy, our community, arts, environment and a variety of other topics!
