Our speaker this week will be Alex Montague: Wine Tastes of the Old World v. the New World
Alex, originally from Baltimore and of Polish decent moved to Miami after meeting his wife at a Dave Matthews concert 18 years ago. As first generation American, Alex is proud of his heritage while celebrating the freedom and opportunities he’s enjoyed as a result of his parents’ sacrifices. As a result, Alex is most proud about receiving the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, which honors individuals who are dedicated to helping those less fortunate with their knowledge, compassion, talents and generosity all while acknowledging their ethnic heritage. Alex has received a number of awards and recognitions from countries and royal houses around the world for his work with an array of cultures and peoples. Alex and his wife Maria were awarded the Amicus Poloniae award given by the Ambassador of Poland for their promotion of Poland culture within their community service.
Alex began his career serving 8 years in the US Air Force, completing tours in Germany and Saudi Arabia and receiving two medals; the Armed Forces’ Expeditionary Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service. After his service, he went into the corporate world and has held several senior management positions at Barnett, NationsBank and Bank of America. He is currently a financial advisor and senior portfolio manager at Morgan Stanley.
