This week will be a networking meeting. We will also have a presentation by Jami Rothenburg, RN, BSN on Stop the Bleed and Active Shooter Response.
Jami Rothenburg, RN and Trauma Coordinator at Broward Health North will be presenting Stop the Bleed. Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and call-to-action. Stop the Bleed is intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. A compendium of expert recommendations on strengthening the security and resilience of U.S. citizens after mass casualty events was release in September 2015.
Jami will teach the recommended steps for handling a bleeding emergency. She will then be joined by an additional trainer and the remainder of the presentation will revolve around hands-on training. It is a presentation that literally could save a life.
Jami Rothenburg, RN and Trauma Coordinator leads Broward Health North’s Trauma program that treats over 1,500 patients a year. In addition, she has been teaching Stop the Bleed for over 2 years.
