What I learned as Rotary District Governor
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Drew and his family moved to West Chester, PA when he was in elementary school. Drew graduated from Bishop Shanahan High School where he was in the Honors Program, served as President of the National Honor Society, and earned varsity letters in Baseball, Track and Cross Country. Drew found his passion for service by participating in the Community Service Corps. Drew attended and proudly graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in History with a minor in Business. Go Irish!
Drew is a Business Development executive, who has managed multiple teams to the highest levels of accomplishments in their respective fields for over 28 years. Drew is currently President of the Private Exchange Group, a Qualified Intermediary for 1031 exchanges. As a sought-after expert, he annually trains CPAs, Attorneys, Brokers and Investors on the strategies of the 1031 exchanges.
Drew was asked to join the Rotary Club of Coral Springs-Parkland in November 2004. He subsequently served as Chair of Interact, Youth Exchange, Youth Service and Foundation. He is a 4-time Paul Harris Fellow and Paul Harris Society member. He with his Rotary sponsor, Tom Pratt started 4 Interact clubs in Coral Springs. Drew was named Rotarian of the Year in 2005. Drew and family have hosted a Youth Exchange Student from Brazil who is still part of the family. As President in 2007, he increased membership, strengthened the club’s speaker program and brought the Harvest Drive program to the city. The program still feeds hundreds of families to this day.
In 2012, Drew and 4 other Rotarians formed the Rotary Club of Coconut Creek. Drew served as president again in 2013-2014.
For District 6990, Drew has served as Assistant Governor, Director of Club Operations, Director and Discussion Leader of the Rotary Leadership Institute, the Nominating Committee for District Governor, Chair of Youth Exchange Committee and District Trainer for 2012-2013. Beyond the District, Drew has served on the PETS Board, RLI Board, PETS Operating Committee, PETS Training Team lead & has been a President-Elect Trainer since 2008.
Drew met his best friend and wife Sara in 2003 and have been married for over 11 years. Drew has 5 kids: Emily, Lisa and Matthew who are in college and Gabby and AJ who are in elementary school. He is very active in Indian Princesses and Adventure Guides and the family has a beloved dog named Bella. He enjoys time with his family, travel, the beach and sports.
